Well, I forgot I even had a spot on here to blog!
I tend to get around the internet and boy, it was nice to see a familiar face Kela on here.
What am I up to? A birthday, celebrations, and man I probably won't even get to how hectic the holidays were. At least not yet anyway.
Well, yesterday was Matson's birthday. He celebrated with his sister and said we may do something with him this weekend. I guess meaning tonight or tomorrow night.
We also had a New Year's brunch on New Year's Day. Didn't even get to half of the food I planned to prepare. It was hilarious, I always overprepare. Better to have too much to eat than too little, hunh?
Adam kept saying "All this is for FIVE people?"
I just laughed and nodded. "Well, possible five, or ten, or more ..." I never really know when I invite people. Some people come, some people don't.
I had things like eggs benedict, caviar with creme frache, bloody mary's with shrimp marinaded in roasted garlic; snacks like cheeses, olives, marinaded mushrooms, chapagne pate, and Adam even made a braised stew of lamb, potatoes, and carrots. That's even still in the fridge. We'll probably have some people over and eat it tonight.
The eggs benedict several said were their favorite, however I didn't get to making those either. And since I have all the stuff I still need to make them. Calling Tracy, knowing she still wants them, isn't available until Saturday.
The plot thickens of how many possibilities there are for this weekend ...
To top off the weekend we planned to help Ben move in with us.
And to really ice the cake - right now it's the worst storm we've seen in about a decade. It's being compared to a huge storm in 1995.
Huddling inside with the fire going is what we'd all most likely really want to do! But what will we end up actually doing?
Oh yeah, and my mom is coming by to drop off an old computer for the Ranch. It was really sweet, her husband Vic, had it refitted with a new year of virus protection and had it cleaned up by their "computer guy". I guess it's always important to have one of those. The Ranch has been lacking a computer for at least two years, maybe longer. Adam's grandfather and uncle would really like to have it for email, photos, and recipes.
Otherwise in life, I've got my jail time still to serve at the "Farm" on the 18th for my DUI, officially charged Dec 5th. I've got my DUI classes starting on the, hmmm, I guess I'd better check that out again. Some Wednesday coming up ... anyway, lasts clear through March. I think once I pay the DMV some fees and get that SR-22 from my AAA insurance policy I can get a restricted license until I can finish my DUI classes and get my actual license reinstated.
What an expensive two beers! Let that be a lesson to everyone else, I guess. And hey, I'm alive right?
The cop at the scene of my accidnet had a grin on his face. He said "You know," looking down at the ground and digging his foot into the asphalt, well as if he could anyway "people pay a lot of money to do what you did." He grinned "flipping your car down a hill a bunch of times and all."
I was pulling shit out of my head for weeks. I still have some scars I am sure, but at least I've stopped finding glass and sticks lodged in it.
All in all, still doing well. Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.
Well, as relaxing as it can be.
Whew!
